My Short Introduction

Hello, my name is Phu and I am a student at Bunker Hill Community College. I am currently attending full time. The course I will be Blogging about is Philosophy World Religions.

In the article from Huffington Post Religion, why does God hide? By Alan Lurie. He explains about the misunderstanding of the nature of God, the misunderstanding of the nature of Religion, the misunderstanding of the means to experience God’s presence, and lastly the misunderstanding of the proof. Bertrand Russell is a famous British man who memorably said, “God, you gave us insufficient evidence” (Lurie 1). The article explains about the concept of God’s hidden presence, which is not a new topic. In fact, that question is deeply controversial. The question has been theoretically going on for 2,000 years (Lurie 1).  Nobody in this world have proof that god have existed. The misunderstanding of the nature of God, Lurie talks about different perspectives on that question. In addition, Alan Lurie writes, “God’s presence is experienced, not quantified, measured, or recorded” (Lurie 2). Lurie illustrates that God is written in the books, the past religions, and the recording of experiences. Secondly, the misunderstanding of the nature, Lurie demonstrates that religion is not an archaic science, but rather a place where people can seek god. Thirdly, the misunderstanding of the means to experience God’s presence, the experience of god is long and careful consideration. He illustrates that religion is spiritual and can teach us how to meditate, pray and seek god on a regular basis. Lastly, the misunderstanding of the proof, Lurie talks about the many attempts of people trying to prove the existence of God. The Teleological Proof is a way to prove the presence of god and suppose to be seen through nature.

I totally disagree on Alan Lurie’s perspectives. Alan Lurie says that the presence of God are written in books, experienced, and recorded (Lurie). It is skeptical, because there is no evidence that God exist. The books can only be written by a human being and people are following somebody's beliefs. There is no presence of god or experience of God. The misunderstanding of the nature of Religion as technology advances and the better understanding of science, we as people could slowly fade away from God. Alan Lurie states the presence through God is through nature (Lurie 4). I disagree, because nature is environmental science and I cannot relate God to nature. Nature is made up of elements, atoms, oxygen, gases, gravity and etc. All of these aspects put together form life and nature. God is imaginary and I have a weak belief, because of no evidence. But the characteristic of God is positive, strong, and someone imaginary to have faith. The role model of God is to have faith, forgive and peace in the world. All of the characteristic are positive action and I would never stop anyone believing in something they want. Positive characteristic of God are healthy. Its always good to have some faith. why does God hide?
